PTA Road to Success
Join with other PTA leaders to experience the newly revised and combined Information/Advanced Course. It's a new concept in leadership developement. It includes a primer on organizational structure, bylaws, officer duties, and a touch of parliamentary procedure. You'll be surprised at the knowledge you gain at this course.
President's Course
The president is the easiest job in the PTA and after you take this course, you'll believe it! Duties of the president will be discussed plus leadership tips and styles will help you succeed in this office.
Council Course
Find out how a council works and how it benefits the local units that become part of a council.
Dollar$ and $ense
This course will teach you the basics of PTA finances including: how to prepare a budget, the use of vouchers and receipts, how to do an audit, treasurer's financial reports, and reporting to the government.
Building Successful Partnerships
(BSP)
The BSP workshop will introduce you to the National Standards for Parent/Family Involvement and will offer tools to parents, teachers, administrators, and the community to promote meaningful parent and family participation in schools.
There is also an addendum workshop: How To Help Your Child Succeed. This workshop focuses on practical ideas to use at home and in the community to promote learning in both areas.
ABCs of PTA Finance
This workshop is an in-depth look at Accountability, Budgeting, and Choosing Fund-Raisers responsibly by defining how PTA officers work together to fulfill their responsibilities, how to create a budget that promotes the goals you have established, and how to choose fund-raising activities to accomplish your goals.
PTA and the Law
Rules and regulations - what are they, what do they have to do with our PTA? The workshop will present state and federal requirements, including ADA, banking, funding, IRS, and more information important to all 501c3 organization's leadership.
TV Critical Viewing
This workshop utilizes video and a workbook to demonstrate how we, as consumers, can watch TV in a more active and discernable manner. It will allow participants to engage in discussions about the construction of TV programs, violence on TV and how it affects age groups, and the business of TV with its myriad of advertisements.

The Illinois PTA District 28 leadership team will visit your school,  library, or home to conduct
an Information Course.
It is important that every member of your PTA board take this course.
Members of the school administration/staff and PTA members are encouraged to attend.
